The Boardwalk Bistro features an open Kitchen and large extraction fan to ensure a continuous flow of fresh air allowing the frying of whole Snapper, or cream cheese Wontons, charboiled home seasoned hamburgers and jerked chicken to cook all at the same time without interfering with the guest's Bistro experience.
The bubbling pots of Oxtail, Curried Mutton and rice are all cooked the old fashioned way using traditional Jamaican Dutch Pots.
All our recipes are Jamaican be they African, Indian, European, Latino or Eastern reflecting our people and Motto - "Out of Many, One People".
The Decor has been centered around a continuous 60ft Counter and Bar made from 2" thick 4 yr old Guango planking. The dining chairs are a unique design and both them and the tables are made from different Jamaican Woods. Bright but warm colours backdrop a series of masks and pictures spanning hundreds of years of African history.
Our Staff are all from Ocho Rios and were selected based upon their personality and presence. We make a point of utilizing the natural friendliness of Jamaicans as the main qualification in all our locations.
The Menu was the most interesting and yet difficult as we wish to cover everything from vegetarian dishes to Curried Mutton and have it served within 15 minutes. - we have achieved that goal we are proud to say - except for cooked to order dishes!
