Beans to Cup
Jura Giga 5 with auto frother
Much has been said about Bean to Cup machines and how they operate and the resulting quality of the cup produced.
In this case I can only say that the Capps, Lattes, Espressos and cups of coffee are of the highest quality using our dark roast Strawberry Hill Coffee.
We recently installed the Giga 5, a big upgrade to the Micro 9, in our Island Coffees Bar and our customers are delighted with the speed of delivery and the quality of the cup.
The first thing are the two internal burr grinders that have variable settings to allow for a mild to strong flavoured coffees and mixes. Bear in mind that a dark oily roast cannot be ground too fine as this will eventually cause a blockage.
Secondly it operates two mixing spouts with milk frothing doubling the output. The separation and quality can be seen the the Machiato below.
The settings on the machine allow you to vary the amount of froth for the Capps and create a short or long pause for the separation in a good Latte. Being automatic allows the staff to prepare wraps and pastries while the cup is being brewed.
Lastly the espressos have a thick crema and again can vary in strength according to our clients desires.
In this particular model there is a separate one cup shute, for pre-ground coffee only, that is so useful for preparing decaffeinated coffees without affecting the main hoppers of our dark roast. It is an excellent investment in a small to medium cafe.
